About

Hi my name is Lucy Di Paolo.

Welcome to my website.

I have always been interested in Documentary photography, Media and the Arts.  Each picture captures the moment by making people laugh, smile, cry, cheer or by making change for the better.

In 1995 I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in photography then gained my experience as a photojournalist with ‘The Examiner’ newspaper in Dandenong for three years.

I later worked with numerous Newspaper Corporations including ‘The Leader’ Newspaper, Fairfax  Newspapers, working in the East and for Melbourne Weekly.  I have won numerous photographic awards being best sport picture 2006 and 2010. Best feature story covering the floods in 2011 and best advertising feature in 2011. In between I had various  private work, such advertising, launches, weddings, portraits and freelance sport. Among a few corporations are:

  • Rio Tinto
  • Australian Open Tennis
  • US Open Tennis
  • Monash Council
  • Corporate Photo Agency
  • Victorian Archives Records Sir Rupert Hamer Awards
  • gingerbronze.com
  • WB Sport Agency, England

I have dedicated myself in Art photography and had numerous exhibitions. My first solo exhibition titled ‘Fragile Black Heart’ was a major success. Through the Australian cultural fund I donated Fragile Black Heart to the locals of  the outback Mining town called Lightning Ridge.  I had the privilege to work with MAP (Many Australian Photographers) and  produced a non profit book titled ‘Beyond Reasonable Drought’. I have successfully produced a coffee table book titled Fragile Black Heart, which is based on the exhibition and is on sale on my website..
