My name is Lucy Di Paolo and I have been a professional photographer since 1996. Photography is my passion and I commit 100% in every job and take satisfaction in any publication. It’s not just the way you photograph but it’s the trust you obtain and empathy to produce a perfect picture.
In 1995 I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in photography then gained my experience as a photojournalist with The Examiner newspaper in Dandenong for three years.
I later worked with The Leader Newspaper, then travelled and worked in London for two years. I returned in 2001 and found a full time job as a photographer with Fairfax Community Newspapers, working in the East and for Melbourne Weekly and now sub-contract for them. I have won numerous photographic awards being best sport picture 2006 and 2010. Best feature story covering the floods in 2011 and best advertising feature in 2011. In between I had various private work, which were advertising, launches, weddings and portraits. Among a few corporations are
- Rio Tinto
- ALP
- Australian Open Tennis
- Monash Council
- Corporate Photo Agency
- Victorian Archives Records Sir Rupert Hamer Awards
- WB Sport Agency London
I also dedicated myself in Art photography and had numerous exhibitions. My first solo exhibition titled ‘Fragile Black Heart’ was a major success. I was privileged to be asked to donate the work through the Australian Cultural Fund. I am currently working on a book and hope to be published and launched soon.
